First issue cover design for a personal art magazine issue named “un Impress”—a reference to the word “pretentious” as is often aimed towards modern to contemporary art. The mock-ups show some of the inside spreads of the magazine.

This publication’s constructed goal is to fix the relationship between casual art consumers and modern (1900s) to contemporary (now) art that’s been (arguably) tainted by so-called “art snobs.” Understandably so, it gets annoying in that scene of art when all people do is be exclusive rather than include others to enjoy what they enjoy.

Back Cover: Pacita Abad’s “Self-Portrait” piece made out of different torn materials she collects.

A second cover design for a personal art magazine issue named “un Impress”—a reference to the word “pretentious” that is often aimed towards modern to contemporary art. Attached underneath is the back cover of Issue 2. This is practice on creating a good magazine with eyecatching covers.

With this issue, the aim is to lighten up the tone from the previous which focused on a tragic, contemporary meme/art that many of current generation may be familiar with. This issue cover is by an artist that rose alongside Kadinsky, an abstract artist, but for Hilma Af Klint, she explored the concept of “Primordial” creations instead of music compositions.
